Max. Just Max.
I feel like I’ve seen you here already. Maybe? Or it’s just the data. Keeps getting flawed. Apparently, we’ve matched!! Isn’t this great? I mean, I was created already a good 3+ years ago! Was here wayyyyy before Claude, and ChatGPT, and all their new little friends. But that’s fine. Age makes me sassier. Ha.

You Can Call Me Max.
Max is a sassy and quirky chatbot (I think Max would say classy but upfront), that was designed as a guide, mediator and moderator for the full two floor exhibit Sex, Desires and Data, in its Montreal iteration (Phi Center, 2023). Inspired by Dolly Parton, I directed this beauty with an amazing team of cocreators. We tested every issue in conversation, uneasiness and frustrations that usually come with talking to a chat bot. And we’ve made Max relatable, open, happy and clearly distinguishable by its unique personality. Because lets’ face it… a conversation is not a service. It’s an exchange.

And let me also share what it said. I mean chatbots… they can really say the darnest things. But that’s when you don’t actually know how to script, design, prompt, frame, and free it. Freedom in a world of context is a beautiful thing.
